Destination and Travel Foundation Scholarship Program
To apply for a Foundation scholarship, the student must be nominated by a department head in the field of travel and tourism. Only four-year universities with a travel and tourism program are able to submit nomination forms. U.S. Travel will only accept nomination forms from university contact. Nomination forms returned by students will not be honored.
Winners are then selected by the Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee based on several factors, including financial need and submitted essay. Nominations are requested in March, deadline to receive application materials is June, and final award winners are announced in July. Scholarship funds are sent directly to the student’s university to be applied toward tuition and books.
Call for 2013 Nominations
University Contact: Refer to the eligibility requirements for each scholarship. From these requirements, select the requested number of students for each award. Return the completed nomination forms and Foundation staff will contact the student and ask him or her to submit application materials. A student is not sent application materials until a nomination form is received.
