TRAVEL PAC

U.S. Travel PAC

The U.S. Travel Association created the U.S. Travel Association Political Action Committee (TRAVEL PAC) in 2009 to enhance its leadership on behalf of the entire travel community by helping to elect Members of Congress who appreciate the power of travel.  By establishing the PAC, U.S. Travel can enlist support from its membership, staff and other travel industry allies to better educate federal policymakers about the economic, social and diplomatic importance of travel while working toward its mission of promoting and facilitating increased travel to and within the United States.

TRAVEL PAC is essential for strengthening our voice on behalf of the travel community by increasing our engagement in political activities, opening additional lines of communication with Members of Congress and their staffs, and allowing us to compete with interest groups and other organizations that support candidates whose efforts would impede travel. TRAVEL PAC will demonstrate the industry’s collective support for those candidates for federal public office who in turn support the causes for which we advocate every day.

The overarching goals of TRAVEL PAC are:

  • To position the U.S. Travel Association as the leading voice of the travel community;
  • To support Members of Congress and candidates who appreciate the power of travel to strengthen America’s economy and enhance the country’s diplomatic efforts; and
  • To educate and mobilize the membership of the U.S. Travel Association to play a more active role in the political process.

Want to learn more about TRAVEL PAC? Before we can ask for a contribution or tell you more about TRAVEL PAC, the Federal Election Commission requires that we receive your permission in writing.  Please complete the prior approval form to receive more details about TRAVEL PAC.

The Federal Election Commission governs all contributions to TRAVEL PAC. Federal law states that an individual may contribute up to $5,000 per calendar year.  For more information about TRAVEL PAC, contact Michael Jacobson at pac@ustravel.org or 202.408.2181.
