During this time of crisis for our industry, with your support the U.S. Travel Association delivered another year of outstanding results. From defending the value of business travel to pushing for passage of the first-ever U.S. promotion program aimed at international travelers to ensuring a measured response from public officials during the swine flu outbreak, your association stood tall with policymakers and the media, and positively impacted decisions that mean literally billions of more dollars for our industry.
At the same time, U.S. Travel created more value for you and other members through core programs, such as International Pow Wow, ESTO, Marketing Outlook Forum, TravelCom, International Market Development, DiscoverAmerica.com, the National Councils, market-based research and a host of communications tools to keep you informed on travel-related issues in a meaningful and timely manner.
From the first of the year, we had a new name and a new attitude. When the Travel Industry Association and Travel Business Roundtable came together to form the U.S. Travel Association, we formed a campaign-oriented approach that emphasized collaboration across all industry segments and a unified voice.
