U.S. Travel Association Statement Regarding New Head of Corporation for Travel Promotion

May 17, 2011

WASHINGTON, DC - Roger Dow, president and CEO of the U.S. Travel Association, today applauded the choice of Jim Evans to head the Corporation for Travel Promotion:

Jim Evans' more than 30 years of executive leadership experience in the hospitality industry makes him a superb choice to lead the Corporation for Travel Promotion and its efforts to attract international travelers from around the world. His understanding of the industry, his track record of success and the wide-ranging relationships he has developed will enable him to quickly rally the travel community to contribute the resources needed to maximize our promotion efforts and make us competitive with other countries in attracting high-value travelers. Jim is a first-rate manager who will undoubtedly attract quality talent to help him execute the Corporation's mission.

"U.S. Travel looks forward to supporting Jim and the rest of the Corporation for Travel Promotion board to ensure the success of their efforts."

U.S. Travel spearheaded the travel industry effort to gain passage of the Travel Promotion Act, which established the Corporation for Travel Promotion in 2010.
