I’m proud to announce the launch of The Dow Report, a new video series from U.S. Travel Association that features thoughtful and candid conversations with some of our industry’s brightest minds as they discuss navigating the challenges of the pandemic.

There’s no question this industry faces a steep road to recovery—but the wisdom of many, coupled with a firm commitment to public health and safety practices for our guests and workforce, will help get us there. In recent weeks, recall that dozens of travel industry organizations collaborated with medical experts to create a core set of health and safety guidance to reopen responsibly, and our industry is engaging with the public to encourage healthy travel practices, such as wearing masks and physical distancing. As we look toward the next phases of recovery, these important conversations—the driving force behind this new video series—will be critical to putting Americans back to work and reviving the U.S. travel industry.

Though nothing can compare to the productivity of an in-person meeting, we’ll have to be virtual for a little while longer. So, I’m using my newfound video chat expertise to share perspectives from CEOs of some of the largest brands in travel on how our industry is adapting to this crisis, implementing health and safety standards, collaborating, and communicating new policies to customers and employees. We’ll hear how leadership styles and business models are changing, and what to expect in various sectors of our industry.

Joining us for the first episode of The Dow Report is my good friend Pat Pacious, president and CEO of Choice Hotels International, Inc. Pat has led the company through an unprecedented period of growth and modernization. He is forward-thinking, resilient and adaptable—a great leader in this moment and an insightful first guest on The Dow Report.

Pat, thank you for joining us and for sharing your expertise.
