The Travel Economic Impact Calculator (TEIC) is an interactive, easy-to-use tool that shows the direct impact of a change in traveler spending on a state's economy. It enables users to specify a given change in travel spending and see the resulting economic impact.

The current state-level TEIC highlights the economic impact of travel prior to the COVID-19 pandemic (with 2019 data) and the potential economic effects of changes to that level of spending.

A separate destination-level TEIC, powered by the Destinations Council, offers city, local and regional destination marketing organizations the opportunity to understand the economic impact when travel grows or contracts more specifically in their jurisdiction. That calculator generally reflects 2018 data. A U.S. Travel login is required for access to the city-level calculator.
