Highlights from the Weekend at U.S. Travel’s IPW 2024
May 06, 2024 By U.S. Travel Association
Over the weekend, we welcomed 5,700 delegates, including 2,000 buyers and media from nearly 70 countries, to U.S. Travel’s IPW in vibrant Los Angeles, California.
Delegates have already experienced a multitude of productive business meetings, invaluable networking opportunities, destination experiences and a lineup of over-the-top evening events.
Here are some of the biggest things that happened during Days 1 and 2 of U.S. Travel’s IPW.
Opening Night
We kicked off the weekend with an unforgettable Opening Night event at the Los Angeles Exposition Park, home to the iconic Memorial Coliseum, brought to us by the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board and their partners. Attendees explored the Eats, Beats, and Streets that fuel the heart of LA with immersive partner activations and local food tastings. The evening capped off with an electrifying performance by legendary award-winning singer and actress, Diana Ross.
Press Brunch
We welcomed 600 media to the Getty Museum for brunch and a tour. The media play a vital role in generating coverage about all that America has to offer and the essential nature of international inbound travel to the U.S. Throughout the show, media will also attend various press conferences to learn more about what’s coming at destinations across the country.
Tourism Cares
Attendees embarked on a transformative journey through LGBTQIA+ history & culture with the Tourism Cares annual Meaningful Travel Experience. Expert guides from The Lavender Effect, a purpose-driven organization, guided people on an immersive walking tour through significant landmarks and hidden gems, shedding light on the struggles, triumphs, and contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Take a look at the day’s video footage roundup as well as the show’s Daily Happenings photos.
Today’s fun fact: IPW drives over $5.5 billion in economic impact in future travel to the U.S.
