National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW) is the U.S. travel industry’s annual tradition of recognizing the essential role travel plays in powering the economy, strengthening communities and connecting America.

Established in 1983 by a congressional resolution, NTTW brings the industry together each year to spotlight the scale, strength and impact of travel nationwide.

Why it matters

Travel is one of America’s most powerful economic engines. Every trip taken supports jobs, drives local economies and fuels the public services communities rely on.

  • 15 million jobs supported across the U.S.
  • $3 trillion in total economic output
  • 2.4% of U.S. GDP

Behind every statistic are real communities—airports, hotels, small businesses, attractions and destinations that depend on a thriving travel industry. See travel's economic impact in your community.

Join the celebration

From May 9–15, 2027, industry leaders, destinations and advocates across the country will come together to elevate travel’s impact and tell its story in every corner of America.

Whether you’re hosting events, sharing your local impact or amplifying the message online, NTTW is your moment to showcase how travel keeps America moving.
