Image Andrew Newhart Senior Director, Government Relations Andrew Newhart joined U.S. Travel in July 2022 and serves on the Government Relations team, focusing on key policy areas across the association’s advocacy agenda, including transportation and infrastructure, visas and workforce policy, appropriations, and national parks. Before U.S. Travel, he was Director of Policy and Legislation at the American Bus Association (ABA), where he helped secure $2 billion in federal grant funding to support the private motorcoach industry’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier in his career, Newhart worked as a federal lobbyist at the global law firm K&L Gates LLP and served as a Legislative Assistant on the House Homeland Security Committee under Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-MS). Newhart is originally from Rochester, New York and is a graduate of St. Bonaventure University. Newhart is also an active volunteer with the Democratic National Committee, the American Society of Association Executives, and the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation.
