WASHINGTON -

The U.S. Travel Association today announced a new partnership with The Great American Road Trip, a nationwide storytelling initiative celebrating the people, places and innovations that shape the United States. As the leading voice for the travel industry, U.S. Travel will support The Great American Road Trip’s efforts to inspire millions of Americans to explore the country ahead of its 250th birthday.

Through this collaboration, U.S. Travel and The Great American Road Trip will shine a brighter spotlight on the destinations, communities and travel experiences that power the nation’s economy and connect Americans to one another. U.S. Travel will play a key role in amplifying The Great American Road Trip events in cities across the country, highlighting the importance of travel to local communities, elevating the industry’s contribution to America’s story, and reinforcing how travel strengthens cultural understanding and drives economic growth. The partnership reflects The Great American Road Trip’s mission to bring the nation together to celebrate America’s semiquincentennial through exploration, shared experience and pride in America’s journey over the last 250 years.

“Travel reveals who we are as a nation, and there’s no better time to tell the story than on the road to our 250th birthday. The Great American Road Trip channels the energy and adventure that define this country," said Geoff Freeman, President and CEO, U.S. Travel Association. "U.S. Travel is proud to rally Americans to get out there, power local economies and reconnect with the people and places that make this nation remarkable.”

“U.S. Travel’s leadership in championing the travel economy and elevating the stories of American destinations makes them an ideal partner for The Great American Road Trip. As we encourage Americans to rediscover the places and communities that define our nation ahead of America’s 250th, U.S. Travel’s involvement helps highlight just how essential travel is to our country’s identity and future. We’re proud to have their support as we celebrate the spirit of exploration that has always moved America forward,” said Tori Barnes, Executive Director, The Great American Road Trip.

U.S. Travel’s participation marks a significant addition to the growing network of partners coming together to celebrate the nation’s semiquincentennial.
