U.S. Travel Reacts to Latest Coronavirus Warning
PRESS RELEASE February 25, 2020
WASHINGTON -
U.S. Travel Association President and CEO Roger Dow issued the following statement on comments by officials that the spread of coronavirus within the United States is “inevitable”:
“We listened intently to the latest message from HHS and DHS officials regarding the possibility of COVID-19 spreading within the United States. While the government has not suggested limiting domestic travel, or imposing restrictions on international inbound travel beyond those already in place, this is clearly a rapidly evolving situation. We will continue to engage health and security authorities on any planned or anticipated coronavirus-related measures that would impact travel.
“As always, we continue to urge the public to seek and heed the latest guidance from public health experts for travel and travelers.”
