WASHINGTON -

U.S. Travel Association President and CEO Geoff Freeman issued the following statement on the Senate’s confirmation of Rodney Scott to serve as Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP):

"We congratulate Rodney Scott on his confirmation to serve as Commissioner of CBP. As a career law enforcement professional, we are confident that Commissioner Scott's experience equips him to be a strong leader overseeing the agency's vital mission to both safeguard our borders and enhance the nation's economic prosperity. With the U.S. preparing to welcome the world for major events like the 2026 FIFA World Cup, America 250 and the 2028 Summer Olympics, we look forward to partnering with the Commissioner as CBP leverages critical innovative capabilities to enhance security, modernize the entry process and facilitate the lawful travel of millions through our ports of entry."
