Andrew Newhart is a senior director of government relations for the U.S. Travel Association.
Newhart joined U.S. Travel in July 2022 and will partner with the Government Relations team on issues across the advocacy agenda. Prior to joining U.S. Travel, Newhart was the Director of Policy and Legislation at the American Bus Association (ABA) where he helped secure $2 billion in federal grant funding for the private motorcoach industry to assist in their recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to his time at ABA, Newhart was a federal lobbyist with a broad portfolio at the global law firm of K&L Gates LLP and served as a Legislative Assistant on the House Homeland Security Committee under Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-MS).
Newhart is originally from Rochester, New York and is a graduate of St. Bonaventure University. Newhart is also a volunteer with the Democratic National Committee and the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation.
