Michelle Murray Tuffin has served as the General Counsel of U.S. Travel Association since August 2011.
Prior to joining U.S. Travel, Tuffin was an associate at Nixon Peabody LLP, a Global 100 law firm, where she practiced Real Estate & Affordable Housing law. Specifically, she represented developers, housing authorities, management agents and financiers in transactions involving HUD-insured multifamily financed projects. She has also independently advised political, non-profit and corporate clients on matters related to corporate governance, advocacy and political law.
Tuffin served on the legislative staff of Congressman Bob Inglis (SC-4) during the 103rd, 104th and 105th Congresses.
Tuffin received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Russian language and political science from Duke University, where she was a Benjamin N. Duke Scholar. She received her Juris Doctor degree from Northeastern University School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the District of Columbia.
