Chinese authorities confirmed an outbreak of respiratory illness caused by a new coronavirus (COVID-19) first identified in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China in early December 2019. Additional cases have been identified in all 50 states and in a growing number of countries around the world. The first case in the United States was announced on January 21, 2020.
