Washington -

U.S. Travel Association Executive Vice President of Public Affairs and Policy Tori Emerson Barnes issued the following statement on U.S. Department of Homeland Security Acting Secretary Chad Wolf’s testimony before a House subcommittee on the continued suspension of Global Entry for New York residents:

“Global Entry and other trusted traveler programs not only facilitate efficient travel, they strengthen our national security because of their thorough vetting of travelers. Americans are safer because these programs exist and their restoration for New York residents will require both the state government and the Department to work together productively. A quick resolution should be a top priority for both sides.”
