U.S. Travel Applauds Small Business Relief Bill
PRESS RELEASE March 19, 2020
Washington -
U.S. Travel Executive Vice President of Public Affairs and Policy Tori Emerson Barnes issued the following statement on the Restoring Economic Security, Confidence and User Endurance Businesses Act of 2020:
“Small businesses are the backbone of the U.S. travel industry, accounting for 83% of all travel industry businesses. The devastating impact of the coronavirus pandemic has ground travel to a halt nationwide, with losses to travel-related jobs predicted to reach 4.6 million by the end of next month. It is imperative that congressional action is taken to ensure that small businesses can continue to support their employees through this difficult time.
“We applaud Senators Rubio and Collins for their leadership on this issue and for their dedication to America’s workers, and we urge its inclusion in the Phase III coronavirus stimulus package.”
