U.S. Travel Reacts to Commerce's International Travel Forecast
PRESS RELEASE January 26, 2018
WASHINGTON -
U.S. Travel Association President and CEO Roger Dow issued the following statement reacting the Department of Commerce's international travel forecast:
“This latest report aligns with the trend that we were already seeing, which shows that the U.S. is not as competitive today as it was two years ago in the global travel marketplace and we are losing market share to other countries. The Visit U.S. Coalition looks forward to working with the Trump administration to address this problem, which has considerable ramifications for the broader U.S. economy.”
U.S. Travel Association is the national, non-profit organization representing all components of the travel industry. Travelers in the United States are estimated to spend $1.1 trillion in 2022 (still 10% below 2019 levels). U.S. Travel advocates for policies to accelerate an even recovery across the travel industry and restore economic and job growth for this essential contributor to our nation’s success.
